The province of Havana is located in the western part of the country. The capital of Cuba is located in the City of Havana. His absolute population belongs to 701.767 inhabitants, with a population density of 122,5 hab./km ². Havana has an entire surface of 5.730,5 km2, borders to the north on the City of the Havana and the strait of the Florida, for the East on the Province of Matanzas, for the South on the Gulf of Batabanó and for the West on Pinar de Río.
The Economy of Havana is basically industrial - agrarian. Principal productions: electrical energy, oil and natural gas, cement and other materials of construction, carbide and acetylene, electrical and telephone cables, glass, painting, drinks and liquors, textiles, dressmakings, tobacco, citrus fruits.
The province of Havana has good road communications and his places of interest concentrate on the north coast: on the west the beaches of Baracoa and El Salado, of regular quality but calm and where it is possible to pass a good day diving and swimming and at least of an hour of trip of the center of the city of Havana; and the beaches of Arroyo Bermejo and Jibacoa to this one, small beaches but of good quality and with facilities of accommodation. Practically the whole White Route, highway that joins City of Havana with Matanzas, is a scenic route and along them several facilities of camping are in small but beautiful beaches. The Lookout of the bridge Bacunayagua in the limit with the province of Matanzas also is a place to do a stop and to enjoy the sight.
