Havana City is the Capital of the Republic of Cuba and the biggest city of the Caribbean, from the political and cultural point of view it possesses the characteristics of a big metropolis, it is placed in the Occident of Cuba, in the north coast, between 22 grades of north latitude and 82 grades of longitude west. Limits to the north: the strait of the Florida; to this one, south and west: Province Havana. It is shaped by 15 municipalities, with a surface of 723,92 km ² and a population of 2 201 610 inhabitants, being the city most filled in Cuba. The majority of the travelers always return to Havana or in some cases they remain, since it is a city full of delight.

The City of Havana is the principal tourist center in Cuba, it possesses a wide hotel network in development. Among its principal attractions are the historical - cultural and recreative heritage of the city where the recreative areas of suburban parks stand out the historical center of Old Havana, the beaches of the East, National Zoo, Botanical Garden and Lenin Park, and the area of permanent exhibitions of EXPOCUBA. Also there are several museums, galleries, theaters, restaurants, rooms of dancing, cabarets, etc.

Havana City is undoubtedly a beautiful city in front of the Strait of the Florida and the principal tourist destination of the island, which concentrates attractions of all kinds: magnificent beaches at the East, hotels and restaurants for all pleasures and pockets, marinas and centers for the practice of nautics sports and almost of all kinds, architectural and historical values with maximum concentration in Old Havana, declared a World Heritage Site in 1982 by the UNESCO, facilities for conventions, a rich cultural life and big variety of recreative and night facilities that joined with the proverbial happiness of the average Cuban gives it an additional attraction.

Places of special interest in the city and that you mustn´t leave to visit are:

• Old Havana, and in it the restaurants El Floridita and La Bodeguita del Medio, immortalized by the North American writer Ernest Hemingway, the Obispo street, the Square of the Cathedral and Arms, the Palace of Captains generals, today Museum of the city, The Old Square and his surroundings, The Square of San Francisco of Asís and the convent of equal name, the Avenue of the Port, as well as numerous museums that exist in the zone.
• The National Capitol and the Paseo del Prado with its lions of bronze.
• The fortresses of La Cabaña and El Morro that they dominate Havana Bay and are between the most ancient of America.
• Christ of Havana, in the this margin of the bay and with an impressive sight, the whole Avenue of the Port and an important part of the city
• The modern part of the city, the quarters of Vedado and Miramar, where are located night centers, restaurants, commercial centers, theaters and cinemas, where life flutters in every corner and in every street.
• The Square of the Revolution and Colón Cemetery , in Vedado.
